Janay Walker became interested in poetry in the fifth grade after going to a school poetry block party. She wrote her first poem as a homework assignment for her fifth grade Language Arts teacher. Some of her close friends asked to hear her poems and told her to start writing as a hobby instead of just doing it when she is bored or has nothing else to do.
She is inspired by Shel Silverstein after reading his poetry book Where The Sidewalk Ends. She started writing poems, not goofy hysterical poems, but more problem poetry. She hopes to one day become awell-known poet worldwide.
