A native Oregonian, Erika Lundahl is newly returned to the Northwest after living and working in Ithaca, NY. In 2012 she graduated from Ithaca College with a writing degree that focused on creative nonfiction and experimental genres. Since then, she has spent time writing for nonprofits, playing music, working in butcher shops, rare bookstores, and kosher kitchens. She gets really excited by urban and local agriculture projects, alternative economies, delicious food, live music, and community building through the arts.
She believes that writing is the intersection of fantasy and reality—a space of creation and destruction, where concepts of what is and what could be must live. Writing is a world of possibility that removes us from reality in order to return us there again, remade sturdier and ready to face its challenges. Currently she’s working on a chapbook, Other/Wise and exploring the world of solutions journalism, interning at YES! Magazine.
